Heritage Restoration

Heritage Restoration at Unwin’s Stores, The Rocks Precinct

The existing heritage timber stair balustrades required strengthening in order to bring to an acceptable standard for safety and accessibility.

Valen Project Services were engaged on a Design and Construct basis to provide a detailed upgrade methodology in consultation with the Client Heritage Team to ensure the upgrades were sympathetic to the stair aesthetic and to ensure minimal impact on the heritage fabric.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Valen Project Services successfully delivered the upgrade of the stair balustrades at this site with the reinforcing elements being almost undetectable to the public.

Excellent communication and effective site visits. Provided a detailed plan of execution and a high quality of work was completed. The client was very pleased with the results and the restoration of the heritage fabric. Michael goes above and beyond to assist and deliver projects for the CBRE Place Management NSW team from the initial site visit to the execution of projects until completion. He is always happy to provide insight and answer questions as well as fit in meetings, working around our schedule, especially during lockdown where it has been a difficult time to complete works. He has great knowledge of the precinct and the heritage nature of works.
